PhD opportunities in River Science
The School of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Stirling, Scotland, is pleased to be able to offer a number of potential PhD topics in the area of River Science.
Funding is available from NERC quota and University-funded studentships. We also have a number of 5 year “research apprenticeships”, in which the appointees will study for a PhD and also receive training and experience in a broad range of research skills. Potential applicants should contact David Gilvear (www.sbes.stir.ac.uk/people/gilvear/index.html). A number of studentship projects are given below but other projects of interest to high quality applicants and closely related to the research interest within the Centre for River Ecosystem Science (www.crress.stir.ac.uk) within the school would also be considered.

HIGH-LEVEL CAREER OPPORTUNITY IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) seeks to recruit a senior scientist to fill a supervisory management and research leadership position as the Director for the Ecological Exposure Research Division (EERD) of the National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) http://www.epa.gov/nerl/. ORD is filling this position using EPA's Title 42 Authority, which offers up to 5-year renewable term appointments at highly competitive, market-based salaries. The position is part of a larger EPA effort to use state-of-the-science approaches and technologies in its mission of protecting human health and the environment. CONSERVATION ECOLOGIST
FLBS invites applications for a tenure-track position in conservation
ecology in a landscape genetics context. Statement of rationale for the
application, with emphasis on ability to obtain research funding, and vita

Both positions are full time at FLBS on the east shore of Flathead Lake
near Polson, MT, with half-time salary for teaching and service and
